How NormalMap.io handles your images (they never leave your device) and the little data we collect about visits
In short
- The normal map generator runs in your browser. Your images and the maps made from them are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
- We have no accounts, so we hold no names, emails or passwords.
- We count visits with privacy-friendly statistics and never sell data.
Your images and maps
Every step happens on your own device: reading the image, the AI model (DeepBump, run with onnxruntime-web), the maps, the 3D preview and the download. Closing or reloading the page clears them. We cannot see, keep or recover your images, because they never reach our servers.
To run AI photo mode, your browser downloads the AI model from normalmap.io and the onnxruntime-web program files from the jsDelivr CDN, then keeps a copy in its cache so the next visit starts faster. These downloads contain no image data.
What we collect
- Visit data: pages visited, the site or link that brought you here, and basic device details such as browser type and IP address. We use it to keep the site running, stop abuse and see which pages help people.
- Tool events: that a map was made or downloaded, with the settings used (for example AI photo mode, OpenGL). Never the image itself.
- Emails you send us, if you write to support@normalmap.io.

NormalMap.io is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page.
